Thinking Long Term

book of business
It is difficult to think long term in this business particularly in our current market. With limited inventory, responsiveness to buyers takes
precedent to almost everything. Unfortunately, not thinking long term makes us victim to every new market change that comes around the
corner. It becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Not thinking long term causes us to deal with our business reactively, not proactively which
takes us off track. It is a vicious cycle.

The only way to take control of your business and get off the roller coaster ride is to think long term, make hard decisions, and follow
through.

What do you want your business to look like next year?

What are the things you don’t like in your career and what do you want to change?

If you were to wave a magic wand and have exactly the career you wanted, what would it look like?

Take the time to define these things. You are in control. If you don’t have the career that you envisioned define it, make the changes you
need, stay on course, and follow through. Make the progress you need to accomplish the career you envision. Take control and don’t let
circumstances make decisions for you.

Making a focused direction change will be hard in the beginning. You’ll struggle and daily distractions will take you off task. If you give in
to those distractions, change will never happen. Staying the course through thick and thin will bring the changes you desire in your career.
